LANCASTER, Ohio (July 9, 2021) — Kristin Glasure, LSW, APHSW-C, will become the president and CEO of FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care effective July 17, 2021, with the retirement of Denise Bauer, current president and CEO of FAIRHOPE.

Kristin GlasureGlasure’s career with FAIRHOPE began as its bereavement and volunteer services coordinator in 1992 upon her graduation with a bachelor’s degree in social work from Wright State University. After six years of service, she left the organization to work as an intervention specialist for multiple school districts. Glasure provided supportive services to students, families and school personnel. Later, Glasure worked in nursing home facilities where she coordinated marketing efforts, facilitated admissions and discharges, and gained a base knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.

In 2016, Glasure retuned to FAIRHOPE for an opportunity to manage the social workers, grief support services and chaplain teams. In 2019, she was promoted to her current position of vice president as part of the organization’s Succession Plan.

“For the past two and a half years, Denise has mentored, taught and trained me for the role as president and CEO,” said Glasure. “I am thankful for Denise’s guidance at FAIRHOPE and the organization’s dedication to doing what is best for the patient and their families. I am extremely honored to be considered and I am confident that with the help of the team that we’ve built this will be a smooth transition.”

Glasure has deep roots in Lancaster. She graduated from Fisher Catholic where she played basketball earning a full college scholarship. She is one of four girls and at times her dad worked three jobs to ensure that Glasure and her sisters were all able to pursue the careers they wanted to. Her mom was a nurse who worked weekends at a nursing home. Often Glasure and her sisters accompanied her which was where Glasure’s desire to become a social worker first began.

“I was taught to look out for others and have a purpose in life,” said Glasure. “My goal is to continue to touch the lives of those in Fairfield County and surrounding areas while broadening and strengthening the mission of FAIRHOPE throughout the community.”

Speaking on behalf of FAIRHOPE as a whole, Board of Trustees’ President John Snider stated that, “We are very grateful to Denise Bauer for her many years of dedicated service to the organization and we are excited to welcome Kristin Glasure to succeed Denise as the president and chief executive officer of FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care. The fact that Kristin brings with her a history of service and dedication to the organization in a multitude of different roles makes her uniquely qualified to become its next leader. Notably, in 1992, Kristin was very instrumental in the expansion of our volunteer service program, which currently has grown to 130 members who are now, thankfully, largely returning post-pandemic. The fact that we have been blessed with so many selfless volunteers who are dedicated to furthering the mission speaks volumes about the quality of the care that FAIRHOPE delivers on a daily basis to the community.”
