The FAIRHOPE team comprised of Kim McPeek, Lea Ann Blair, Melissa Golobic, Stephanie Murphy, Michelle Wallace, Beth Luning, Norma Agriesti, Mark Linn and Dawn Rice have committed to this five-week program. The team will participate in extra trainings, webinars and projects in addition to their current workload.

LANCASTER, Ohio (May 7, 2020) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. has been named a 020 Hospice Honors recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, a leading provider of billing and coding services, CAHPS surveys and advanced analytics. Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.

Award criteria were based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2018 through September 2019. Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures. Performance scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a National Performance Score calculated from all hospices contained in the HEALTHCAREfirst’s Hospice CAHPS database. Hospice Honors recipients include those hospices scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score on 20 of the evaluated questions. HEALTHCAREfirst holds a special recognition, Hospice Honors Elite, to honor hospices scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score on all 24 of the evaluated questions. LANCASTER, Ohio (April 8, 2020) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. has robust children and adult grief support groups and has found a way to continue helping during the COVID-19 crisis. FAIRHOPE is now offering telehealth grief support via FaceTime or phone calls to 740-785-6546.
“We know that during times of change and uncertainty it often raises fears, concerns and anxiety in grieving children and adults,” said Tracey Miller, FAIRHOPE grief support manager. “We are fortunate to be able to continue helping the community during these unprecedented times.”
For children who are grieving, they may start asking questions about death or may keep a watchful eye on parents and not want them out of sight. Volunteers partake in rewarding experiences through opportunities in patient companionship, clerical duties and community outreach.
“We are extremely grateful for our volunteers who devote their time to make a lasting impact on our patients, their families and our staff,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “Volunteers gain great experience in a variety of healthcare and hospice roles and I highly encourage everyone to join our FAIRHOPE family.”
Registration for the upcoming FAIRHOPE Hospice Volunteer Training Class is open.
