LANCASTER, Ohio (June 6, 2019) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. has been named a 2019 Hospice Honors recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, a leading provider of billing and coding services, CAHPS surveys and advanced analytics. Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view

“We are incredibly honored to be ranked as the top hospice care for this award,” said Denise Bauer, President/CEO of FAIRHOPE. “Our employees work hard to provide excellent care and they deserve the recognition.”

Award criteria were based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2016 through September 2017. Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures. Performance scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a National Performance Score calculated from all partnering hospices contained in the HEALTHCAREfirst Hospice CAHPS database.

LANCASTER, Ohio (May 28, 2019) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. hosted it second annual FAIRHOPE Celebrates Life event on Thursday, May 2 at The Mill Event Center. Thanks to the community support from sponsors, auction donors and those who attended, the event raised over $32,000.

FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. Hosts Trash to Treasure Sale

LANCASTER, Ohio (May 29, 2019) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. will hold its annual Trash to Treasure Sale on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds to benefit the FAIRHOPE Hospice Memorial Fund. Community members are encouraged to come out and purchase used items that need a new home.

“At FAIRHOPE, we accept all patients regardless of their ability to pay,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “When you shop at our Trash to Treasure sale, your payment goes directly into our Memorial Fund, which allows us to bring hospice care and comfort to families in need.”

The Trash to Treasure event will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds, 157 E. Fair Ave. in Lancaster. Items available at the event range from toys and games to common household items.

FAIRHOPE is currently accepting donations of new or gently used items, no clothing. If you’d like to donate, please contact Twylia Summers at 740-475-0657 or tsummers@fairhopehospice.org.

They will also have multiple drop off days at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds:

  • June 3, 4 and 6 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Joining the Board of Trustees are:

  • Cathie DeRolph
  • Marjorie Moore

“We are thrilled these distinguished members of the community have joined our board of trustees,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “We look forward to the tremendous guidance, support, expertise and passion they will bring our organization as well as the patients and families we serve.”

Cathie DeRolph works at Kumler Collision where she focused on marketing and payroll. She was also a teacher in Lancaster City Schools where she focused on special education and second-grade students. DeRolph is also on the board of the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio.

Marjorie Moore is the executive director at Scenic Hills Senior Center. She also has experience working at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in the emergency room and outpatient clinics. In addition, she was the office manager for Dr. Reuben and Dr. Floresm.

FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care Promotes Kristin Glasure

LANCASTER, Ohio (April 16, 2019)— Kristin Glasure, LSW, was recently promoted to vice president at FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care. Glasure is a licensed social worker and has dedicated over 25 years to the social services field. She has been recognized for her tireless commitment to enhancing the well-being of others and to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

“Kristin has been an integral part of our team for three years and previously worked with us as well,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “I’m thankful to be able to work closely with Kristin in her new role as vice president as we continue to focus on meeting the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of those we serve by honoring life during its most difficult times.”

Her experience includes coordinating inpatient and outpatient care programs for 5-star facilities, leading teams in the development and execution of agency goals. Glasure holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Wright State University where she received a four-year basketball scholarship. Her decision to enter the social work field came at an early age as she watched her mom, a nurse, work at a local nursing facility. Born and raised in Fairfield County, she has maintained her strong family and community ties and lives near Lancaster with her spouse and their four boys.
