LANCASTER, Ohio (September 6, 2018)—FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care today announced it has received a grant from The Fairfield County Foundation from the Ward R. & Dorothy DeLancy Halteman Fund for a Stratus Video Interpreting program.
This program will allow for FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care to better communicate with deaf or non-English speaking patients and families. It includes two iPads, one for in patient use and one to travel with a nurse to onsite visits in homes, extended care or nursing facilities. Prior to receiving the grant, FAIRHOPE had to borrow an interpreting device from other healthcare organizations.
“This program will allow us to continue providing exceptional care to all patients,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “We’ll be able to take the program into homes or utilize it at The Pickering House. It’s a critical need when the situation comes up and now we’ll be able to respond and communicate quicker.”
