2020 Volunteer Training with FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care Begins in March

LANCASTER, Ohio (January 24, 2020)— FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care welcomes community members of all ages and experience levels to make a difference as part of their volunteer team. Volunteers partake in rewarding experiences through opportunities in patient companionship, clerical duties and community outreach.

Volunteers“We are extremely grateful for our volunteers who devote their time to make a lasting impact on our patients, their families and our staff,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “Volunteers gain great experience in a variety of healthcare and hospice roles and I highly encourage everyone to join our FAIRHOPE family.”

Registration for the upcoming FAIRHOPE Hospice Volunteer Training Class is open. FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care Appoints Two New Board of Trustee Members

LANCASTER, Ohio (January 21, 2020) — FAIRHOPE Hospice and Palliative Care appointed two new members to its board of trustees.

Joining the Board of Trustees are:

  • Gregory Riffle

F. Eric Smith Eric Smith is the vice president and funeral director of Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory. From 1999 to now, he’s worn several hats including: embalmer, insurance licenser, certified crematory operator, certified funeral service practitioner and land acquisition manager. Aside from his career, he is a proud husband and father to their two children.

 

Greg RiffleGregory Riffle is a physician at Fairfield Medical Center, where he has experience in Internal Medicine. He grew up in Ohio and currently resides in Fairfield County with his wife and two children.

Mark LinnFAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. awards Mark Linn as the January Employee of the Month recipient. The peer-nominated award is determined after drawing from employee submissions to recognize individuals who go above and beyond in providing care to patients and their families.

“End-of-life care requires an immense amount of compassion and empathy, which Mark does best,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “His passion to share scripture and words of love to patients makes them and their families feel at ease.”

For the past three years, Linn has built relationships with the people of FAIRHOPE and considers himself extremely blessed to work here. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and kids, watching college football and indulging in a good book or song.
