LANCASTER, Ohio (July 24, 2019) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. has selected Debbie Tullius as its Employee of the Month for July. The peer-nominated award is determined after drawing from employee submissions to recognize employees who go above and beyond in their care, compassion and commitment to others.
“FAIRHOPE’s employees take pride in providing exceptional care for all patients and families who walk through our doors,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “Debbie has been part of our team for 25 years and we are pleased to recognize her as FAIRHOPE’s employee of the month.”
Tullius took the STNA course at Fairfield Career Center and just as she finished FAIRHOPE had an opening. She has been here ever since. Outside of work, she enjoys walking, swimming and helps care for her six great-nieces and nephews. Tullius and her husband have two dog fur babies – Bindi and Bailey.

LANCASTER, Ohio (July 25, 2019) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. will hold its eleventh annual Virginia Leigh Pickering Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 4. Each year FAIRHOPE hosts an ice cream social upon the anniversary of the passing of benefactor Virginia Leigh Pickering.
The Ice Cream Social will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at FAIRHOPE Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd. in Lancaster.
“We honor the wishes of Virginia Leigh Pickering each year by hosting an ice cream social to celebrate life,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “We love being able to pay tribute to such a beautiful person. She was an inspiration to everyone she met.”

LANCASTER, Ohio (July 18, 2019) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. is offering Teen Support Group Tuesdays this summer. The drop-in sessions are offered every Tuesday through August 13 and run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Anyone can attend and no registration is required.
“We offer this service at several area schools throughout the school year, but wanted to provide an opportunity to continue to reach students over the summer,” Grief Support Manager Tracey Miller said. “We want to support teens in the community who need someone to talk to and understand their emotions.”
The summer drop-in sessions are hosted at the Anita M. Turner Center, which is located at 282 Sells Road in Lancaster.

LANCASTER, Ohio (July 17, 2019)—FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. recognized its volunteers during the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, May 23. Volunteers were recognized with one, five, 10, 15 and 20 years of service.
“Volunteers are the heart of our organization, bringing joy, light and love to our patients, families and staff,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “We loved being able to honor and thank them for the compassion and support they show us and the families we serve.”

LANCASTER, Ohio (July 10, 2019) — FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. held a Trash to Treasure Sale on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 to benefit the FAIRHOPE Hospice Memorial Fund. Hundreds of community members came to the Fairfield County Fairgrounds and purchased gently used items that needed a new home. Also, several volunteers helped by collecting, sorting, storing, cleaning, pricing, selling and packing.
“At FAIRHOPE, we accept all patients regardless of their ability to pay,” said Denise Bauer, FAIRHOPE President/CEO. “We appreciate the tremendous support of our community and volunteers to make this event a success. They are truly helping us bring hospice care and comfort to families in need.”
